Every year people of the Protectorate leave or made to leave the youngest baby in the wood as a sacrifice to the witch. But little did they know that the witch, Xan is a good hearted one and rescues these babies and deliver them to welcoming families on the other side of the forest, nourishing the babies with starlight on the journey.
But one year, Xan accidentally feeds a baby moonlight instead of starlight. As every action has equal consequences, this act of Xan had some consequences and thus the story of the girl who drank the moon begins...
The book takes place in a magically different world - a wood, completely different types of city on both the sides of the wood, a council of people, witch, dragons and bog. Speaking of the bog there comes our swamp monster - how can I miss his poetry lines, his monstrous structure, his love towards Xan, Luna and Fyrian.
Along with Glerk, the swamp monster, each character grabs a place in our heart in their own way. Xan, because of her good hearted natureπ₯°. Fyrian, because of being simply enormous dragon. Luna, being Luna❣️, I just love her.
I loved her more when she was 5 years old, loving and innocent, the moment when her magic started to emerge with which she played and the way she called Xan after exploring something from her magic "Grand Mama". Oh! I can even imaginally hear that little girl calling. Thats the power of a super book right?! ❤
Not only them, Antain, Ethyne and there are others too who marked their characters in the story more strongly. This book made me to go on a emotional roller coaster ride.
I laughed when Glerk pulls Fyrian legs... Glerk and his poetry lines! Felt cute how Fyrian cares for his little unique family... especially Luna. I felt anger with those sisters and councils. I awed with the 5 year old Luna. Felt sad when Xan and others couldn't explain Magic to Luna. Felt pain with Adara and yeah, felt more inspired and courageous with Antain and Ethyne. This was one awesome ride!!!
